Lanterns in the Windows
Southwell Town Council isn’t able to organise the Lantern Walk this year but we’re still giving children and adults the chance to be able to make a willow lantern and to light up windows all around the town, bringing some joy and magic to our friends and neighbours. The theme this year is taken from the poem by Edward Lear, ‘The Owl and the Pussycat’, so we would be very excited if you could illustrate their story on your lanterns…

Make a willow lantern with a professional artist for the Lantern Walk on Saturday 5th December 2020 Open to all ages from 5-105 years! Morning workshop 10am – 12.30pm Afternoon workshop 1pm – 3.30pm Please wear old clothes and arrive promptly for the beginning of the workshop as it will take the whole 2.5 hour session to complete the lantern. Sullivan’s Sword would normally be announcing details of its upcoming January performance of the Plough Play round about now. However, thanks to Covid-19 they are doing things a little differently this year.
