A Little Bird Told Me
April 12 - May 31
A visual arts exhibition and wildlife walk. Delve into a collection of books and take a walk around the farm to see and hear the extraordinary, feathered friends who shape our daily life at The Hopbarn.
The collection of books on view will showcase visual artists, composers, fashion designers, carpenters and photographers who share our appreciation of birds.
The walk is on private farmland that since 2011 has been has been committed to a countryside stewardship scheme, allowing a proportion of the land that was used for arable crops to revert back to a natural habitat for wild bird and animal species. Since 2009, 71 species of birds have been recorded on the land and 16 of these have UK Red Conservation status.
Visitors will also be invited to contribute to a special tree that will sit inside the main exhibition space and is inspired by Mark Dion’s work Library for the birds (2016).
