The EASTHORPE COMMON LANDS FOUNDATION (Charity No. 506119) dates back to the 19th century, created to promote education and alleviate poverty. Over the decades, the trust’s focus has broadened from its original mission and is now called THE EASTHORPE TRUST, which supports social and community needs in Southwell and surrounding villages. Accordingly, the Trustees wish to announce that grants are available for projects to local individuals and organisations.
In deciding to support applications, the Trustees will consider specific projects or the purchase of particular items of equipment, but will not make grant funding available to assist with another organisation’s salaries, overheads, or administration costs. In particular, consideration will be given to fund support for projects or initiatives that provide educational and recreational opportunities to individuals, the wider community and not-for-profit clubs and associations.
The Trustees prefer to support projects or initiatives through match funding i.e. we assist applicants or organisations who have already obtained funds from other sources or taken steps to raise their own funds through activities of their members or sponsorship.
Support will also be considered for individuals who may require particular help, such as access to rehabilitative recreational opportunities, domestic equipment, or home modifications, or assistance with mobility or other equipment.
To make an application, please contact easthorpetrust@gmail.com for an application form and details of the grant criteria.
