Southwell Town Council is pleased to announce the launch of the fifth Civic Champions of Southwell, as a tribute to the people who have helped to make our community stronger. So please let us know who you think should be celebrated by submitting nominations for your local heroes.
This event is held every four years, as a thank you to the extraordinary generosity of the people and organisations of Southwell. Councillor Karen Roberts said: “Southwell Town Council could not be more proud of the response from local people during these trying times, but while we anticipate many pandemic-related nominations, we are keen to hear about every hero from Southwell”.
If you know of an individual or organisation that has gone the extra mile to help their neighbours, vulnerable people or the wider community over the last year, we want to hear from you. Tell us who they are, what they’ve done and the impact that they’ve made. It may be a one-off occasion or an on-going project. The actions could have helped one person or dozens. Small gestures can be as impactful as big achievements. Each nomination will be judged on its merits by a panel of town councillors.
We are looking for nominations in the categories of Organisation, Young Adult (18 and under) and Adult. Individuals must live or be educated within the Southwell Parish boundary. Organisations must be based in Southwell. Anyone can make a nomination, regardless of their age and where they live.
Please pick up a nomination form from the Southwell Town Council office or Southwell Library, or email: email@example.com. Nominations should be received by 11th October 2021, so please nominate today. The winners will be announced at the Full Council meeting on 20th October 2021, to be followed by a ‘thank you’ ceremony in November.
