A volunteer-based charity offering support and friendship to older people still living in their own homes in Southwell and surrounding villages within a five mile radius. With the help of volunteers, the scheme encourages them to regain lost confidence, overcome loneliness and be part of the community again. The services offered include 1-1 befriending with regular visiting, coffee and friendship mornings in Southwell on Tuesdays, 10.30 – 12 noon, outings for lunch or morning coffee, luncheon clubs on Wednesdays at Kings Court and Thursdays at Burgage Close, both at 12 noon.
The Live at Home scheme also now has on offer: a monthly Boccia Outing to Newark Indoor Bowls Centre and a weekly Bits & Bobs craft group at Kings Court on a Wednesday afternoon.
They are always grateful for more volunteers to help with their activities.
Its office is based at Unit 10, Southwell Business Centre, Crew Lane, Southwell and is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8.30 am to 3.30 pm.
