Bin It!! PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 04 September 2009

Do you know we have nearly 100 bins in and around the town? There are more than 60  litter bins and 36 dog waste bins. The Town Council has to buy the bins and replace them when they are damaged – at a  cost of around £200 a time. The Town Council also has to pay Newark & Sherwood District Council to empty the dog waste bins – and at £1.55 per bin per week  this currently costs almost £3000. Emptying the litter bins is the responsibility of Newark & Sherwood District Council so if you see a full bin you can call them on 01636  655600 and they will empty it. If you want to report a problem with a bin then contact the Town Council office and let us know if it is a litter bin or dog waste bin and it will be either repaired if possible or be noted for replacement when funding is available.
