Former social worker, in fields of child care and medical social work, in Cambridgeshire and North Yorkshire.

Have also worked for the Joseph Rowntree Memorial Fund’s Family Fund programme for 8 years, providing help to families caring for very severely handicapped children in their own homes; and was a volunteer for many years with the York branch of a charity specialising in mental illness, including 3 years as its Director.

Married to John, with 2 grown up children who have careers in drama and music, and we also have 2 grandchildren. We have lived in Southwell since 1999.

In the 60’s we lived for 4 years in Sweden, and still keep up contact with friends there.

Joined the Town Council in May 2003, as a Liberal Democrat.
